I AM HERE IN MALAWI

I made it to Malawi!
The Lord got me here with good health and the flights here were pretty good and it went fast (I slept off and on most of the trip to South Africa.)

The Steiner's (my ride to the rural area Mangochi), were detained in South Africa dealing with auto importation, so I was picked up by a family that I met in 2006 last time I was here.

I am still with them at this time as my friends the Steiner's were detained again and car impounded as they traveled through Mozambique on there way here for many days. Once they paid the fees ($3500) to get there car out of impound, they were on their way. They are now going through all the processes to get there car legal here in Malawi and are detained once again.

So I am waiting for a ride either with them or other missionaries that are heading back to Mangochi from Blantyre.

The family I have been staying with (the Lloyd's) have been very helpful and the kids and I have bonded well. It will be difficult for them especially, as I head out. My time here has been a blessing and I was able to help out a lot with family duties as the mom is expecting and has been sick. She would like me to be "stuck" here for much longer. They keep asking me if I am sure my ministry is not here in Blantyre. lol

I was able to apply for my TEP (temporary employment visa) while here which is very good. I would have had to come all the way back here to get it started. The Malawian Pastor that gave me the letter of invitation to come here, helped me through the whole process.
He and his wife invited me to their church convention my 1st week-end here. Talk about diving into the culture. Though it is very different from those that I am going to, it was a good experience and blessing. They even included me in parts of the event for prayer and example. Too much attention for me, but it was good for those involved.

I have been able to meet with many missionaries that are serving here in Malawi and have gleaned from their sharing, experiences and advice. It truly has been a blessing!

I am working on language here while I am waiting to head to Mangochi.
Working and spending time with these 3 kids at the home I am staying at has been good for the kids too.

PLEASE PRAY..........
That I am on my way soon and for the parting that will take place soon with this family.

For myself and my kids as we continue to struggle with being apart and learning to adjust to the distance. Thank God for technology and the ability to communicate via internet (at least from here in the city).

Please pray for my son Rob as he is testing and trying to get through the processes of going to Wyotech (an auto body + school in California). The financial part still needs to be figured out as well as all the details of how to get there, etc. Pray that he is accepted into the program.

For my daughter Danielle and her husband Casey in their 1st year of marriage as they settle in their rented house in Sandy. For it to be God centered and nurturing.

Thank you for your support and prayers!

May you be blessed in all that you do.
